Santa Cruz, Calif. – Sept. 30, 2008 – Building on its reputation as a leading online job board and careers tool site for life-science professionals, Bio Career Center (www.biocareercenter.com) has broadened its reach by adding two new schools – the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and Michigan State University.

“By adding these two schools to the site, we are extending our presence in the middle of the country,“ said company president Nick Folger. “And in doing so, we can continue to help graduate students find the assistant professorship, research team and/or employer that is right for them.”

Located in Houston on the sprawling campus of the Texas Medical Center, the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is one of the world’s most respected centers devoted exclusively to cancer education research, prevention and patient care. The medical facility was voted one of “America’s Best Hospitals 2008” by U.S. News & World Report.

Michigan State University is known internationally as a major U.S. public university committed to advancing knowledge and transforming lives through innovative teaching, research and outreach for more than 150 years. The school is ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s 2009 edition as among the best universities in Biological Sciences and Chemisty.

Already a part of Bio Career Center’s elite consortium of higher education institutions are Berkeley; Caltech; Emory; Scripps Institute; Stanford; University of California, San Francisco; University of Colorado, Denver; University of Miami; University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; University of Pennsylvania; University of Washington; Vanderbilt; and Weill Cornell Medical College.

Since January, Bio Career Center has expanded its service each month, offering new and unique tools to assist those entering and currently in life science fields. Its successful additions include: Bio Skills Select – a multiple-choice question and answer tool, which assists employers and candidates in the job match process; Career Navigator - a proven online tool designed to help those in the life science sector transition within their field with success; and Expert Seminar Program – a dual-purpose service that provides employers a chance to meet potential candidates, and vice versa, while giving M.D.’s and Ph.D.’s the opportunity to perfect their networking, interviewing, and business etiquette skills.

“With 15 of the top 35 life science institutions as members, we can provide employers with high level talent and support the career aspirations of the best scientists,” said Folger.
