I am a 55 year old scientist and teacher. Presently I am serving as an online faculty for an Educational Institute. I design courses for their MPH program. This article outlines my struggles in the USA and how that time and my present have shaped my career choice. Career choices are impacted by our mindset and other factors at different stages of our life. At age 55, I represent a person at the start of the terminal stage of my career. This phase represents interesting choices: A relaxed mode of work, with more mentoring for younger students and faculty aspirants. A relaxed mode of work indicates not necessarily an unambitious professional life- but altered professional goals. A more mature stable research project requires project assistants. In addition, mentoring junior and mid-career level scientists could be another focus of my professional career. Involvement in the development of educational programs at the university/college I work in. could be another facet of my career from now on.
